Why Blue Coupe?
We cast around for a long time -- perhaps using more energy than such an endeavor might be thought to be worth -- for a name that had a good, solid memorable sound, but that didn't automatically attach itself to anything specific. Blue Coupe had a memorable sound that seemed to evoke many types of music without talking to a specific one.

Another good reason: the dot com was available when we went to register it!

And, in case you're wondering: it has nothing at all to do with cars.

Why can't I find the magazine's mailing address on the site?
Because it's not here. Including the magazine's snail mail address makes us too place specific. Blue Coupe 's only real home is here in cyberspace. We're about music not boundaries. In a perfect world, music doesn't even have those. E-mail is the best way to get hold of any of our team members. Check the contact page for the address you're looking for.

Why can't I find the magazine's telephone number of the site?
To be honest, if we included the telephone number, people would call us. And if people were calling us all the time, we'd never get any CDs reviewed or artists interviewed! Also, we work really weird hours -- Web hours -- and it's much easier to reach us via e-mail. You can consult our masthead to see where you should address specific queries.

How do I get the e-mail address of an artist that you've interviewed or profiled?
Not from us. In very rare cases, an artist will ask us to include their e-mail address or a link to their personal Web site with the piece that we run. When they ask, we always do. However, if it isn't on the site to begin with, we either don't have their e-mail address, the artist in question doesn't have one, or we aren't in a position to release it.

I've recorded a CD. Will you interview me or review the CD?
Maybe. All of the CDs we review and the artists we interview are chosen because one of our writers or editors had a strong interest in the subject or the person. That's why you don't get a lot of apathy at Blue Coupe: we approach all of this with a very real passion. In other words, with all other elements in place, we're certainly open to interviewing you about your music. Contact the editor via e-mail.

How can I find out about what's new on Blue Coupe without having to come to the site every day?
You can subscribe to our free e-mail updates. We send an e-mail update every few weeks.

When did Blue Coupe begin publication?

Blue Coupe went into soft launch in March of 2000. We were online but in beta and keeping a low profile. Our official "hard" launch date was June 29, 2000.

Why isn't the question that I need to have answered included in this FAQ?
The FAQ is a new and growing project for us. If we've overlooked your question, add it here and we'll try to answer it with the next update. If the answer you're looking for isn't here, e-mail our own wise oracle for an answer.
